Goddamn, this album in context of extreme metal in the 90s. Death and Opeth were taking a flame-thrower to the accepted norm and pushing shit forward.

A truly magical album. The tone of the instruments, the melodies, the rhythms etc. set the mood perfectly and the energy never lets up. Credence is the only breather and it has this weird tension where there is never a true break out or anything like that, but at the same time it could always happen.
