it'd be a blind buy, which i do all the time anyway but i was already at my spending limit for that time. i should've gotten it instead of my morning jacket's new one ugh

so i've never been so confused about how i feel about an album. i mean it's a great album and all, but it's not my thing and i hate these kind of vocals. but kept growing on me as it went on and i found myself not minding the vocals as much. the last two songs are probably the best on here.

i don't like metal like this, but i might like iron maiden. idk.

Powerslave... one word can explain this masterpiece: (nevermind, words cannot explain the utter awesomeness of this album).

well i thought 'awesome' would have been sufficient tbh

The word 'awesome' isn't even enough to uphold this album. You can say "Powerslave is awesome" if you want, but it doesn't cut it for me. I'm skimming through the dictionary looking for some words to summarize this album, but not even Webster can find a good enough word :D

Im also gonna get flamed for this, but Rime of the Ancient Mariner is good, not great

way too long. Riff is fairly overdone, and generic by maiden standards. The middle part is pretty sweet, but yeah.

it can get repetitive, certainly

no, but by iron maiden standards, the riff itself shares too much resemblance to their other earlier songs. Specifically on Piece of Mind.

i am shocked a staff reviewer would give this a 5. iron maidon has NEVER made a classic album, period. maybe within its own limited genre, but that doesn't make it an overall classic

i have nothing against the band, but i would hope a bit of objectivity in the rating system would prevail

edit: oops, sorry. i see you wrote this b4 you were staff. well i hope you've learned a few things since young man! This Message Edited On 11.30.08
