I didn't mean to imply that. The whole "pop disguised as classical" thing was just to completely switch around your summary, but I thought it would be in poor taste and kind of silly so I didn't. I don't think pop is bad. I don't think einaudi is bad. I think he limits himself and that's what I was trying to say with this review. I like a lot of pop instrumental.

I went upwards from the comments to the review, so I think seeing his old summary colored how I read the review. Looking back on it, though, with a different summary you're right that it's not really there.

i'm actually lying you're obviously hung up on the pop disguised as classical comment which was expressly consciously disconnected from the review

I appreciate all your comments, but I don't think this is as bad as you all make it seem. Sure it could have more analysis but I don't think it's totally worthless. I'll write another review on one of his albums with the same focal point but going into way more depth.

@ShakeFaker, I didn't mean to imply your review is worthless. Like I said, I liked your first paragraph and the prose is pretty good. It's more a matter of lacking substantial analysis, and instead repeating the same point multiple times. Like you said, you didn't really put in the effort to make it meaty, and it shows. It doesn't mean it's a war crime or some other kind of abomination!

@Jac, I don't think that's true. I mean, I know exactly what to get out of his music; I loved it for years. I still listen to the title track Divenire and think it's amazing. I learned Nuvole Bianche by heart years ago and can still more or less play it. But now when I listen to it, I can't tolerate (listening or playing) the "reset" of the song at all: it's just too repetitive. Whether it's the genre's shortcomings or Einaudi's, I think that's certainly a legitimate criticism that goes beyond the simple binary of "did you approach it correctly?"

@sach i agree with you.

part of what i meant when i said "pop disguised as classical" is that it wouldn't intrigue without the orchestral value, which either elevates what i think would normally be mediocre for some listeners or makes it seem really bland if you're used to hearing more complex piano and orchestral music

people are just getting nitpicky because you dared to write a middling review for a fairly highly regarded artist. the review is perfectly fine. it's not your duty as a reviewer to convince people who liked this album that they're wrong for doing so; it's your job to be honest and describe the album in your words and make it read well, which you did.

the only criticism, which toxin mentioned, is that you repeat some of the same points a bit. so, maybe edit your review and make things more concise.
