I thought the same thing when I read that honestly.

i'm a little upset that most critics are comparing the two albums, saying they should have taken longer with this one as it sounds like b-sides to depression cherry (it doesn't). literally every review i've read - good or bad -has compared the two

Yeah Bloom may be too structured (i.e. cliche) for some, but I think all their visions and dreaming need a little something to hold it all together. Otherwise it just floats into vapid space.

bloom may not be as rooted in dream pop as their other albums, but those melodies, guys. idk, i think it's an immensely enjoyable album front-to-back and has some of their best songs (myth and troublemaker being particularly outstanding)
