I think I agree with you, Amused To Death really is an underrated gem.

honestly I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I have not heard Amused to Death. I love Floyd and I love Roger and I've heard every Floyd album but the new one but I have not gotten around to listening to AtD. I really need to do that soon.
But The Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, WYWH, etc etc etc are some of my favorite albums. Also I absolutely LOVE The Final Cut, I think it's a brilliant masterpiece that will never get the credit it deserves. so Roger's work on that, combined with everything else he did with Floyd I think is incredible.

Confession time: I still haven't heard The Final Cut, all I know is that it's the most polarising thing in the world. The new one was good, just as long as you didn't have ridiculously high expectations.
I haven't heard the remastered version of ATD but it's a really good album, I always think about how amazing it would have been if it was a Floyd album.

aw man... well if you're a fan of Waters' writing, you sure as HELL need to check out TFC soon. it is really polarizing tho. I've seen people that pan it mercilessly and people who group it in with the best Floyd works. and it can be a grower too, first few times you listen to it you might think "wtf is this??"
I'll definitely get on AtD soon too.

I managed to find a copy of the original for cheap on ebay, they're hard to come across now so I thought it'd be worth getting.
Yeah there's a good chance I'll be checking out The Final Cut very soon because I love me some Waters writing. Supposedly a new album from him next year so that's something to look forward to.

sweet. yeah I definitely need to check out more of his solo stuff. heard the Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking and it was really good but nothing that really blew me away.

Yeah I didn't think anything from it was mind blowing but it was just a solid album. Radio KAOS is similar but it might be slightly better. Lots of familiar themes explored on that album that would be done in more depth on ATD.

Amused To Death is even more relevant now than it was twenty odd years ago and that's just scary.

Thanks Totengott!
He always seems to have his finger on the pulse when it comes to politics and world events.

The Final Cut is a definite grower. I gave it a try in 2013 and didn't like it, then again late 2014 and I was stunned (or amused to death, pick one). He is definitely my most favourite Pink Floyd member and R.Wright comes next.

Definitely a grower. It still feels a little tired / outdated, but the quality of the songwriting is great.

I can understand where you're coming from with it feeling slightly outdated, I can definitely hear it; but yeah great songwriting is as great as always

Final Cut really never did anything for me but I do own it on vinyl and spin it now and then. Also I am definitely a Gilmour worshiper.
