Holy shit that adds an entirely new layer 2 notes goddamn putting it on repeat
Digging: Ossuary - Supreme Degradation
Complexity is generally used to characterize something with many parts where those parts interact with each other in multiple ways. The study of these complex linkages at various scales is the main goal of complex systems theory.
fans of Fallujah for example
That's what i mean i guess, a lot of people turn a blind eye to the fact that the drums sound like slapping a wet towel and praise the band.
nice rev funeral dude, doesn't sound like my cup of tea tho
Granted synthesizers on a death metal record are not usually my cup of tea, they tend to generally be a recipe for disaster given their lofty soft nature in opposition to death metal’s unrelenting brutality
don't know what kind of synths this album has as i haven't heard it, but if you haven't already (judging from your ratings) you need to hear (later) edge of sanity or more extremely, dan swano's solo album Moontower which has synthz for dayz
Digging: The Weeknd - After Hours
I've always been turned off by synths in death as well to be honest
it's a shame that what could be some good metal is brought down so heavily by it's production

Cool to see this reviewed. Pos'd. I'm going to write a review of this too. Love this album. The drums are OFF THE CHAIN.
wasn't the dude who produced the new fallujah record going to release a remastered version? i wanna hear that cuz the album sounded good but im not tryna blow out my eardrums trying to decipher a guitar lead
once you do decipher the guitar lead you will find it caked in a lovely blanket of sterile digital reverb fit for any bedroom shoegaze project
i only use analog rack units #gearsnob
Nuh what happened was the production got ripped into by some dude on Angry Metal Guy and the producer gave them an uncompressed version to review for a comparison but either he/the band/the label refuse to have it released because the audience they cater to seem to think louder = better
ah damn yeah now i remember, that sucks. yeah somehow i don't imagine the average fallujah fan to have that much of an issue with the production
however punk music with HNW production does work
at least that's what i hope for
examples? that sounds awful but i've never come across that
i mean that's what i strive for when producing my bands music i guess
yeah agree hard with that, really not diggin that track to be honest
can't hear it now but i'll listen when i get home. that's the post hxc band right
that reminds me of Iselia's debut that i used to like when it came out because it had this organic production. haven't heard it since then but it could just as easily have the type of production you're talking about lol
Album Rating: 2.5
Production could never ruin music for me. I can't believe it completely turns some people off. The music is still the same. The riffs are still the same. Production could tip a 4.5 album into a 5, but it is very rare that it will take anything away from the written material for me.
I guess that's the future of music now, though, with everyone doing studio tricks to distract and allure.
