the production really is bad here. Drums too loud, guitars aren't clear enough or just sound like they're from a bad rip (I'm using the Spotify stream, but it still shouldn't sound this bad).

Thank you! I was going insane already, I read so many reviews pointing out the clarity of production and how they show Metallica the middle finger in regards to loudness war. While in reality production is so acoustically blurred, it's really not fun to listen to.
Also it has a dynamic range rating of 6.0 which is pretty bad.
