I've had the song "Found" on repeat for the last couple days now; I love it (and the music video) so much, it just feels so refreshing after all the walls of sound prog albums I've been jamming lately.

"ADHD was their worst album"
......
This is probably their weakest and least adventurous imo. ADHD is their magnum opus and unfortunately I don't think they'll manage to reach that level again

I always found ADHD to be their most derivative record. It's essentially Dream Theater worship channeled through the moodiness of Riverside's earlier material.

I think it's a very refreshing prog metal album that veers quite far away from the DT clones, and feels natural, creative and has a lot of character. It has aggression and mood changes, but doesn't go overboard with the wankery.
So talk about varying opinions eh. And this is the same band that had that great brass section part over the funk-esque guitar work and groovy bassline. Where's that innovation gone?

Having long songs with progressive rock characteristics doesnt't make you a DT clone. ADHD actually shows how it should be done. It's not excessive. It's just pure prog manifest.

Again, it's not a clone of Dream Theater, but it takes a number of that band's characteristics and channels them through Riverside's moodiness. That's not the same thing. Someone who isn't a fan of the excessive, show-boat style of modern progressive metal could certainly find a lot to dislike about ADHD despite its differences from the rest of the genre because many of the same characteristics are there. Excessive songs that go on longer than they should? You got it. "Metal" vocals that detract from the overall experience rather than add to it? Sure thing.

New album is great - better than "S.O.N.G.S.", that's for sure - but it's not the same level of greatness as the first 3 albums are.. I love their melancholic, mellow songs, but I already miss some bits of heaviness heard in those albums - their best songs in my opinion are those where they mix the melancholic/slow parts with the heavy/metal ones, like for example in songs : "Volte - Face" (my favorite song from them), "Artificial Smile", "Beyond the Eyelids", "Parasomnia", etc.
P.S. what do you people think about the lyrics to the song "#Addicted" ?

Volte-Face was the first song I learnt to play on the guitar by only listening to it and it was the best feeling ever. I know it's not that difficult to play by ear, but if it's the first time then it is....
#Addicted sounds right to me. I really like the weird, personal style Riverside's lyrics have.

Even if lyrically that's the third album in a row in the same vein?

I think Mariusz is too focused on making "mature" music. That seems like kind of a trend nowadays.

I can't get bored of this album. Have listened to it up to ten times and more already and I still want to listen to those roaming synths.

Saturate Me's mid section is really good, especially Lapaj's synth. That's one section I really wanted to here after the band posted Grudzinski recording his guitar part. But the guitar lacks punch and is low in the mix imo. Still catchy though.
But Lapaj's performance is too far in the background unfortunately, and when he does come to the fore he uses pretty generic synth sounds. And even though Duda lays down some pretty great grooves, I feel he holds back for the most part
