"the band has literally expanded their horizons in every respect."
You shouldn't use that word.

I'm digging this slightly more than TGG but the standouts on that one are better than the ones on here

Like all Wonder Years albums (excluding Suburbia) I'm sure I'll be in love with it for like a week but then when the initial high wares off realise it's like a 7/10

For me I think I still enjoy Suburbia more than this and TGG. TGG had 'I Just Want To Sell Out My Funeral' which was like, the mainstay of most of that album. Otherwise some tracks on there just didn't hit me as a cohesive project like Suburbia.
I am glad the Wonder Years have modified their sound, but honestly it sounds weird. The mixing feels off, the guitars are way down. A Raindance in Traffic has those HUGE guitars. This album honestly does have more of an emphasis on only the vocals. The drums are barely audible at some points when choruses are active.
There are still some great tracks on here that I love. But I would give it a 7.5/10 probably.

Okay I really want to find this with quality sound. Everything I found was either really quiet or really damn bad.

You sure it's not just the band?

^ this. Even the spotify stream has the same issue. I think honestly it is just the album. it's mixed weird.. which is weird because Evetts has done well with the previous albums.

Spotify is even more messed up, it gets quieter for no reason, then louder for no reason. That can't be the album.

It is the album. I have the CD

So the CD gets really quiet in The Bluest Thing and then gets louder again in Ernest Hemingway?

It is the album, i just can't believe 'Stained Glass Ceilings' is so fucking weak. When the guitars enter in after the keys I am like 'ugh, were those actually guitars?'
Remember on 'Suburbia' when the guitars break through the keys like actual fucking instruments rather than added notes? What happened there.

Cigarettes is the best track on here by far

The production makes no damn sense. I hope it's a mistake, because if not, it pretty much ruins the album.
