Because Xing they haven't written literally the same song and dance all the time, they change it up sometimes (but that point is definately valid after Inferno).

and AC/DC change it up sometimes as well...
|
| |
I mean, rarely, but it still happens!
|
| |
I barely listened to AC/DC so I can't comment.
|
| |
I don't think I'll check this out anytime soon but I can very well picture the review being spot on.
In my opinion Motorhead's discography is far more tiresome to listen to than AC/DC... in fact I heard the whole AC/DC discography but not Motorhead's.

evil eye is not filler, one of the best songs on the album,. I think this is the weakest album of the 2000's, some decent songs, but not up to par with the other recent releases, like Motorizer, aftershock, Inferno.

Also. I do think the mix is off, Lemmy's vocals are too out front, they need to be set back into the rhythem section, I think that is why it sounds alittle off, The best mixes are the albums when the vocals blend in with the instruments

It takes exceptional musicians to make farely simple music engaging.

agree with flugmorph, their genius is their simplicity, the punk attitude and energy is what makes them more than just a rock band, also anybody that thinks they just spill out the same shit every album, does not listen to them very often. Go listen to Overkill, then Another perfect Day, then 1916, Inferno, then Aftershock, and you will see

Anyone who thinks this is shit hasn't got the first fuckin clue about the foundations of what brings us together on a music website.
Motorhead are a no holds barred testament to rock n roll. If it ain't your cup of tea it's understandable but please show some respect.

Motorhead does it again. Really good album.
I disagree though. Cover of "Sympathy for the Devil" is a highlight to me, it's awesome.

I think "sympathy" was a let down, They are known for having great closing songs on their albums, just like the Stones, but a throw away cover to close, may be the biggest let down on the album.

I don't see how it's a throwaway. It's a fitting end to what is possibly this bands last album.
God forbid but can you imagine Lemmy pegging it? He's 70 years old and to round everything off he's barking out that he's Lucifer having covered one of the Rock n Roll greats.
It's classic!!

which is why I was hoping for one last great closer, like the chase, orgasmatron, we are motorhead, not a cover of one of the most famous songs there is, seems cheap. almost all cover are throw aways, except some that are not famous the first time around until somebody makes it their own, which is in no way Sympathy

I can defo see your point dude but give the man/band some leeway. What we want from Motörhead is integrity, grit and a couldn't give a fuck attitude. On that count the closer delivers.
Other bands need to learn.

ok fine, Motorhead has always been about integrity, true. maybe they could of hid it somewhere else on the album. most other bands do need to learn that they should make the music they want to on instruments, not be pretty boys looking for airplay.
