Most places I've seen state that Holy Fire is better than this...but for some reason this clicks with me soooo much more. Fantastic album.

For me, this is Holy Fire Lite. I actually listened to Holy Fire the other day and realized how few the songs are that I actually really enjoy. I don't think there will be much left of this band that will appeal to me in the future and that kind of sucks.

This is so much better than Holy Fire. Sound-wise it has a lot in common with it, but the songs here are so much better. I don't like "What Went Down," "Give it All," or "Snake Oil," but everything else is very solid-to-great.

Anybody looking forward to their projected new album next year? I'd argue they are one of the more consistently good 'indie rock' bands out there. In my opinion, they haven't made a bad album yet. I wonder if we'll see a change of style, similar to Antidotes to TLF?

Give it All has grown on me a good deal the past few years, but I still prefer everything else on here besides Snake Oil and maybe the t/t.

"Snake Oil" sounds like a 2005-era U2 song to me, it's their "Get On Your Boots."
Generally I don't like big dumb distortion song Foals. Inhaler is an exception because it's built up to, but What Went Down just sounds like any old band to me.
