We get it, zaru. You only listen to black metal.

no i'm just slightly intoxicated and just feel like #eliting over the peons. This is like the only trve album I have physical ownership of, sans like Ash Borer's s/t. And I listen to more non-bm currently anyway :3

Excellent review!

One thing, though: "Clocking in at just over an hour in length"

Album's 43 minutes long, you probably counted some bonus tracks.

good review EO, though - and I h8 to be the type to say this - idk if you reallllly back up that 5/5. you do a little bit of setting the stage and how Dissection pulled off their sound well, a paragraph of song description, how it sounds evil, and how it's a legacy for the band. i guess i'm just nitpicking but i would've liked a bit more, considering it's a 5/5 for a highly revered 2-decade-old album.

I can never decide whether I like this, or The Somberlain more.

I like this more than Somberlain but I actually totally agree with zaru (amazingly). Soulreaper is pretty meh at least compared to everything else here. More of a shame that it comes after such an amazing track and is the last proper song.

Somberlain isn't quite as good bit it also doesn't have any glaring weak spots.

The Somberlain and Storm are both 5/5 for me. I can never decide which one I like better either.

The Somberlain was a 5 for me for a while, but I bumped it down. It's still like a 4.8 though if I'm gonna be specific about it. :]

Soulreaper sucks so I can't in good conscious 5 it because I'm obsessive compulsive. The rest is 5/5 but Soulreaper is like a 3.3 :/

Seriously? Soulreaper is quite good. Unhallowed is the track is keeping this from a 5.

Really Crysis? I liked Unhallowed better than Soulreaper personally.

You know an album is good when a discussion about it centers around which song is slightly less awesome.

Yeah Portal hahaha every song is flawless, it's just a matter of which is slightly less classic
