I thought Giant was a step back for these guys, I liked the sound from the first two albums a lot better. This sounds interesting though.

The middle of the Thing That Made Search sounds a whole lot like The Human Stain.

Eh. I understand why they changed it up but I personally really don't like where these guys went with their sound :/

Wretched Sea is an album unlike any other I've heard. I like their evolution so far though.

This is the first album since Call of the Wretched Sea that legitimately feels like it has the massive sound/atmosphere/emotion to convey the sense of something oceanic.

I dont think they have lost anything in this progression/evolution of their sound which makes it all the more enjoyable.

This isn't FD. And they're sound changed almost completely so...

Album Rating: 4.5
but they still havent lost that essence of what made them a good band in the first place. You can slip stupid metal genres and still be the same band and sound by doing more with it. There are still Moments of FD on this album. Probably not enough to satisfy pure FD heads who want to listen to the same record over and over again.
