I've never had so much spyware shit try and install itself on my computer as I did searching for a link to this album.

I feel like if they made another album after this it would be another step up in quality. There's no ceiling now because the band is free.

Well this is fantastic. I wasn't so keen on renacer, but this is far better.

I did enjoy some of renacer, but I thought the cleans on it sounded awful. Plus a lot of the songs sounded kind of similar. On this there is more variety and I really like the guitar work. Fucking solid album. I never expected this band to go in such a direction from their earlier work, quite a good surprise.

New Jersey quintet Senses Fail continue to evolve towards a heavier form of hardcore on their 6th LP 'Pull the Thorns From Your Heart'. Where this diverse record differs to predecessor 'Renacer' is by interspersing mutliple moments of ethereal shoegaze amongst the abrasive ferocity. Shaun Lopez's intentionally raw production will prove divisive, since it lends emotional weight to Buddy Neilsen's struggle for self-acceptance, but dulls any melodic forays. Far from accessible or immediate, this feels like an album to be admired, but is difficult to enjoy. Recommended Tracks: Pull the Thorns From Your Heart, Carry the Weight & My Fear of an Unlived Life.

I'm pretty upset that I don't connect with this like I did Renacer, but it's still alright.

"Wounds" is probably the best and most grown-up and this band has ever sounded. Still iffy on the lyrics and not that into the more aggressive half of this record, but it's surprisingly good.

...I guess I'm one of the few who miss old senses fail. Not a fan of this direction, hoping Renacer was a blip, guess not.

I swear that one day this album will be enjoyable to me and I will be able to listen to the whole thing. I havent listened to more than 2 songs in one sitting and haven't enjoyed any of them. Which is insane because I 5'd Renacer. I hope that's the case.
