I had it at a 4 when I first listened to it. It's just that it automatically dropped to a 3.5 when I posted my review.

It's at a 4 now! haha

I think the reason why is because every time I edit it the rating reverts back to a 3.5, that would make so much more sense.

only good thing about this band is that it introduced me to Tool

only good thing about this band is that it was in Halo 2

I wouldn't say they're bad...just way to satisfied in their comfort zone, which sometimes is really enjoyable but too often middles out in mediocrity. Imo, The Diary of Jane is one of the best hard rock songs and melodies of the last decade. They are one of the most accessible post-grunge bands out there, and I don't think necessarily should be dismissed for that.

they were featured in Halo twice actually. Only the last time the song wasn't actually in the game itself.

Damn, I was hoping mine would get the feature. Oh well

Really? I thought you've been featured before?

Good review but I'm not sure I dig that summary tbh. Its super rare that a band going through hard times equates into an amazing record. The last QOTSA album and a few Pink Floyd albums and Abbey Road are the few exceptions I can think of.

Agreed with wwf for the summary though, the album was basically written with the previous line-up.

Well not really, because it was written soley by Ben after the lawsuit, or during. Either way the old line-up was dead in the water.

Oh my bad then, but still it doesn't imply any help from the new members. I'm pretty sure it was Ben who didn't want any complex solo or instrumental sections. Maybe, with the added guitarist, things will change.

The summary implies that with all the opportunity the band has been given, the large stint in hiatus and all the spinal tap in the band during that time, that it's a little disappointing that the end result for the album is this.

And you hardly yoinked it from me, Toon, when you asked for it to get featured. lol
