Agreed that Jimmy is awesome…he was pretty much the only good part of their earlier albums but he sounds even better here.

Artwork is definitely subpar.

Wish they would've included their signature flame logo or something.

The new Emery album is really good too! Two veteran bands who can still bring it.

Silverstein, Emery, and Haste the Day this week. Not too shabby.

I always really liked Jimmy's harsh vox. I just didn't think they were as good musically on the first two albums as they were on Wolf King and Pressure with Keech. Having Jimmy, Keech, and Brennan all on the same album is pretty glorious.

All three of those bands you mentioned suck imo. Haste the Day only has two good albums for me. This and the debut

Ha ha, fair enough.

I am still working through this, but Attack of the Wolf King is my favorite by them. Honestly, the only thing I don't really like about it is Keech's shitty clean vocals. If Brennan would have stayed in the band, it could have been amazing. This might end up ousting it, tho, I really like what I have heard so far.

I wish I knew who did certain cleans on this record because some are fine and some are atrocious.

The bad are probably Keech, unless someone else also does cleans on here. Brennan has a fairly deep, really clean sounding voice.

Is it enough to watch the world go by

To turn the page without reading the words

Caught in the afterlight

Just waiting for the right time

This is from World (pretty sure it's the chorus). Brennan does the top 3 lines, and then I am pretty sure Keech comes in and does the last one.

I don't really listen to this kind of stuff much anymore, but it's fucking good to hear Jimmy Ryan again

Agreed. He's arguably one of my favorite vocalists in the genre.

Album's a crazy good throwback and Jimmy absolutely kills it. There are people that prefer Stephen over him? Huh, never knew. Stephen's great but Jimmy is metalcore royalty.

Jimmy just sounds so much like Daniel of Zao and I love it. I dig his other band Trenches quite a lot too. They just need to release something new already.

I'm bumping this to a 3.5, I'm certainly warming up to it a little bit.

I got into the band post-Jimmy, so I always preferred Stephen, but damn does Jimmy bring it on this record.

Hopefully they had some leftover funds to finish that damn Trenches album already.

This basically is new Trenches ft. Haste the Day, and I'm so okay with that.

Hope Trenches ends up releasing some new stuff soon, they've been sitting on new recordings for a while.

I know that Trenches had two new demos up for 24 hours a few days ago. They both sounded fantastic. Their post also made it sound like they've actually started making some progress.
