Nothing wrong with a to-the-point review. It's why I like sites like AllMusic.

Visuals need a review, thinking on doing it.

I just can't get into Visuals. A few songs stand out but as a whole, it does nothing for me. This one, on the other hand, is still such an excellent album. So many good moments. "Rows" is a phenomenal piece, as is "Clinging to a Bad Dream,"The Night Believer," and "Interview With Girls."

Visuals totally needs a review. Pretty amazing throughout with a few small hiccups here and there.
A or A-: Nothingness and No Regrets, Learn Our Crystals, Candy Pieces, The Wake of Your Life, Heavenly Jewel Thief
B+: In A Better Place, Carry Me To Safety, Twist Quest
B: Ay Ay Ay, Zanzibar
B-: 85 Videos
C: Shoulders
can't remember how I feel about the other bonus track so I'll get back to ya'll on that.
I think Visuals just makes my top 5 of 2017.

I really like Shoulders, C songs for me are Ay Ay Ay, Heavenly Jewel Thief with its maddening jingle bells, and Twist Quest, which I liked at first but now I can't skip it fast enough.
Otherwise agreed.

I dig the record too.

Twist Quest sounds like early Mew, just more annoying.

Visuals grew off me pretty much immediately. Carry Me To Safety is pretty much the only track I still feel an urge to listen to.

I'm a retard, I meant Seeker Shivers, not Twist Quest, which is a fantastic song.
We need a Visuals review badly.

" Carry Me To Safety is pretty much the only track I still feel an urge to listen to."
this. whole album is a wash. don't think much of this either though

Carry Me to Safety was lame, have yet to get around to the rest

the lyrics are lame and it's over-the-top grandiose, but i like it. the rest is dime-a-dozen mew, without any real great guitar hooks or memorable melodies
|
| |
yeah, the guitarist left the band right or did he do any recording for that album?

He left and started: https://youtu.be/34Ra3_5irGQ
So yeah everbody would be happier if he could get his ass back to Mew.

not sure tbh, never cared much to look into their lineup. frengers and no more stories are the only 2 albums i've ever been really into. and apocalypse has some damn great tunes. these days i think frengers is their best by a mile tbh
|
| |
dude was responsible for a lot of the cool guitar parts on previous Mew albums, he could play for sure
|
| |
triumph for man and then frengers are my faves, but the others have at least a few songs that I dig

i remember learning introducing palace players on guitar... such weird chords but so fucking awesome. very creative player who could string hooks together from such weird places
|

I want to learn some stuff off their first album
they recorded it with Damon from the band Swirlies, who are a big influence on these guys
