Still Got The Blues is still the belter I remember. I'll probably check this out fully sometime in the next week.

if there was a version of this without the singing I'd buy it
|
| |
His singing on this is great imo.
|
| |
I'll listen again, first thing i ever bought of his was We Want Moore and it made my ears hurt
|
| |
Even if you don't like the singing, this is one of the most essential guitar albums out there.
|
| |
Quite a lot of the vocals on We Want Moore are actually sung by Neil Carter. He just sounds a lot like Moore at times.

His guitar performance on We Want Moore is incredible. It's a bit funny though that at the end of
almost each song he repeats the name of the song while soloing.
|
| |
really ?
didn't know that, the guy that was in UFO ?
|
| |
Yeah, he worked with Moore a lot in the 80's.
|
| |
oh ill spin this again when I'm in the mood, maybe i'm being too hard on gary

He collaborated with some great artists in the 80s. On Corridors of Power he had Ian Paice and Neil Murray on his band.

Such an overlooked guitarist. Still Got The Blues makes me cry, damn such a great album.
|
| |
The best.
|
| |
So did he rip off still got the blues with parasian walkways, or was it the other way round?
Good idea - a letter to Santa
Bad idea - a cheque to Santa
|
| |
Neither, they are completely different songs, do you have ears?
|
| |
Same tempo, lead riff at start of song pretty much the same, chord progression follows similar suite
Ripping off other peoples stuff is a common crime, but ripping off your own song? Clever little Irish pixie
|
| |
The "lead riff" really isn't the same it's just typical of Moore's style. And it's blues, how much difference in tempo do you expect? Plus both songs have a completely different feel to them.
|
| |
Yeah I'll agree with you on the different feel. First I heard parasian walkways and I felt "ah this is an alright song like" then I heard still got the blues and I felt "haaaahaaa it's parasian walkways episode 2 - Gary Moore strikes back"
|
| |
Both are pretty much masterpieces.
