I've never checked out any Knopfler solo stuff before, but this rules.

I can't find any flaw on what Dire Straits or Mark Knopfler did respectively. Every single song is amazing. I guess this is how it feels to be a fan.

My mom is really big into Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits, she got this for her birthday (With the bonus CD and vinyl editions and all that jazz) for someone who has found Dire Straits stuff pretty average is this worth it? (I'd say the only Dire Straits album I really like is Love over Gold)

If you find Dire Straits average, there's no point in checking his solo stuff in my opinion.

Ah, I see. Because there are a good bunch of songs by them I like (Calling Elvis, Industrial Disease, Walk of Life such and such.) and I was wondering if I'm missing anything. :P

Well, you can check Straits' debut, excellent blues rock album with some slick guitar playing. If you enjoy Dire Straits' softer side a bit more, check out Making Movies as well.

Oh no I've listened to all their albums. The latter ones are pretty good. What'd be the best Mark Knopfler album to start with?

My favorite solo albums from him are Sailing To Philadelphia and Shangri-La. Privateering is also pretty cool.
