Calc kinda put it best in the soundoff page: Always and Forever is a serious contender for the "Most Good Album" award. Dirty Bomb's a pretty snazzy song, meanwhile.

Homage is definitely the best song here, although Yellow Pages and Our Time are also great.

At first, I thought that I might've liked "Let 'Em Know" to start the album, but it's smart that they didn't since it's so radically different to their other material. "Yellow Pages" was a good selection. I might have flipped it with "Burning" if it didn't have that goofy pre-packaged cell phone ringer sound to start the song.

I completely re-shuffled the order to my preference, and I seriously think it increases the album by 0.5 or so. It flows so much better to me like this:

Yellow Pages

Let Em Know

Homage

Our Time

Simpatico

Godlike

Little Things

Crazy Love

Sidelines

Dirty Bomb

Burning

Better Weather

American Pie

Apparently the old bassist didn't get credit for a lot of the songs he wrote on the album and there's a lot of bad blood between him and the band. That really sucks, I thought they had great chemistry.

Overall that's probably true snide, which is sad though because they have made so many good songs besides that.

Yeah the album is cool after several listens, especially tracks like Homage, Our Time or Dirty Bomb. Some duds here and there, though (Crazy Love, Little Things)

Out of those I'd say they have the most in common with incubus, but even that's a little bit of a stretch...

the only comparisons that could be made between AAF and GJ is how both of their "clean" vocals sound sorta similar, but still

I still really enjoy this. Not very consistent though.

the middle does drag hard admittedly but god damn AAF are so distinctive they definitely fill a niche that i don't get from anyone else and i missed them when they were gone.

a lot of that sentiment probably comes from rose-tinted nostalgia but fuq it

Yeah, 7-10 is my personal dead zone. They put "Godlike" in a smart spot; otherwise, the album would be too top-heavy for me.
