this album is nearing 10 years old soon and got me wondering if they'd ever tour juggernaut in full. looking at the tunings...
black minute: 8 string
mk utlra: 7 string
heavy heart: 6
the event/scourge: 7
alpha: 6
22 faces: 8
rainbow: 7
four lights: 8
psychosphere: 7
bad thing/priestess/graveless: 6
hell below: 8
omega: 6
stranger things: 8
shit is written and sequenced in a way that they'd have to switch guitars after almost every song lmaooo... seems like they regretted that cause they toned down the amount of different tunings and 8-string usage massively on the albums since

Just goes to show they were at the peak of their creativity at that time. No matter what tuning they didn't care as long as it was a worthwhile component to the work as a whole, passion overriding idealism.

i gave this a bunch of shots recently and its solid but only mk ultra and the scourge really stand out on this disc as some of their best songs. last few are solid but blend together pretty hard and i am not a fan of heavy heart or alpha much lol
omega is super consistent across the board tho so shoutout that

also i dont think theyve limited themselves whatsoever by staying more consistent w their tunings bc now they write songs that arent always based on the 1st scale degree which is so much of what they did here lol. nothing wrong w that but i honestly see their current approach as being a more creative of thinking about tunings
