Jamming now, I'm really not a fan of the whole catchy melodies + screamy vocals thing in general but these guys pull it off pretty well.

Yeah, it's a grower alright. I've yet to find another album that has such longevity and payoff as this one.

Holy shit this album has aged so fucking well.

It really is still one of the best of the early 2000s Post-Hardcore. Up there with The Illusion of Safety, Relationship of Command, War All the Time, and Worship and Tribute.

Great first listen this was for me. I love the arty-ness, the cleverness of many of the songs like for example Reduced To Teeth. No weak song, they're all very good.
Also the atmosphere is excellent, I already can imagine some imaginary worlds, places and stories in my mind while listening to this album.
I think this album was the best choice for me as a first album of them! And of course as usually I had to discover this album myself because there's no one who could recommend me albums and bands in real life (only sputnikmusic, youtube and till few years ago last.fm). And I'm thankful about that!
Also, this album feels a bit similar to Emery - The Question (especially the more clever songs from that album), which I also love.

@TheNateman:
What do you mean with it has aged well? You mean you have a cd of this album and it's still in good condition?

he means it doesn't have that early 2000's phc sound which would have made it sound dated 20 years later.

To me early 2000 post-hardcore doesn't sound dated or old. I still really like many albums of that period like Thursday - Full Collapse for example, or bands like FFAF, Alexisonfire, Dead Poetic, A Static Lullaby etc.
Is sound dated negative? I also listen to many post-punk albums from 1978 to late 80's, means those are even much older than early 2000 post-hardcore. Or even early 70's krautrock, or Black Sabbath etc. they would be even more dated and older.

all those phc bands you mentioned (save Thursday in my opinion, but I like them) have a sound most people have moved on from. If you like that sound than more power to you. the fact still remains the sound of early 2000's phc is old and dated. some albums/bands are "ahead of their time". this album is one of them.
