I was a huge fan of The Banner, but this album is a complete wreck. The recording/production quality seems to vary from song to song, Joey's voice sounds completely different from song to song, and there's not consistent sound/style. The album just seems like a collection of songs that they wrote over the course of several years. There's absolutely no consistency whatsoever. Frailty felt like a complete album that flowed from start to finish...but this is just a sloppy mess.

Don't get me wrong, there are some awesome songs here, but this just isn't a good album. If you take it as a collection of songs, it's a lot better...it just lacks flow and consistency.

I can understand your point but I like that the styles vary on this record. They're wearing their influences proudly and mixing things up. It's a good change of pace from their previous discography, in my opinion.

This album is absolutely spot on. If you haven't already heard of a band called Totem Skin I suggest you check them out. They're very similar to The Banner.
