Funny you should bump this thread, I actually jammed this again yesterday. It's so fucking good I might bump to 4.5.
Best Saves the Day, idc.

Damn that In Reverie-Morning in the Moonlight one-two
Yeah my opinion of this has increased over the past few days. If the vocals were SWYA-level this would be pushing 4.5 territory for me.

Just gave this my first listen.
Really don't like it, but is it worth giving it more listens to see if it grows on me? There are elements here that I enjoy, but overall, I'm struggling to get into it. I love Through Being Cool and Stay What You Are, and I also enjoyed Sound The Alarm, but this album just isn't doing it for me at the moment.

Hated this when it came out, grew on me over the years a bit, though. Still has some pretty bad songs imo (Anywhere With You, She, Wednesday the Third). Appreciate the variation they attempted after 'Stay What You Are'.
Everything after this ranges from painfully mediocre to absolute ass.

Yeah, that's normal, this is the worst Saves the Day album.. but some people might try and tell you it's the best.

I don't know, I was at least able to get through the whole album unlike their self titled album from 2013 which I turned off partway through as I hated it so much (mainly due to Chris Conley's vocal delivery which has turned into some annoyingly squeaky voice). I quite like Sound the Alarm, but I haven't listened to anything after that other than the self titled. Are Under The Boards, Daybreak, and 9 worth listening to?

I don't really think anything post Sound the Alarm is all that great. Sounds the Alarm is part of the three album trilogy (including Under the Boards, and Daybreak) and is easily the best of the 3. I'd say Daybreak 2nd, and under the Boards 3rd. But the next two after that were pretty garbage IMO. The latest one is awful, but still not as bad as this.

Yeah, I listened to self titled and thought it was pretty awful. I saw them live in 2014 supporting Brand New in London (pre Jesse Lacey allegations, of course), and even the songs they played from Stay What You Are and Through Being Cool weren't enjoyable because he was singing them in that annoying squeaky voice that he's been using for the past few albums.

'9' is one of the worst albums I've ever heard.

I almost forgot how perfect this album is. This was essentially the soundtrack to my freshman year of college.

I remember when this came out and everyone thought this was the worst that Saves the Day could do.
