I'd say the reason it's "of its time" is because it was the launch pad for hardcore and post-hardcore for the next decade. Bands listened to this album, realised what was possible with punk music, and ran with it. It's also the reason Refused's two reunion albums, while good, weren't as well received. What was innovative at their creative peak has been copied and re-hashed into oblivion by other bands, and it's hard to find that next step when your peak already changed the game 14-15 years prior. Dennis can go back to his post-punk stuff with INVSN and perhaps bring back AC4 for old-school hardcore that doesn't need to innovate.

I literally just played it and was thinking how much sicker it would’ve been if they just used songs from this album. Imagine you’re rocking out onstage and your character just starts playing new noise instead of whatever song it is in game.
