Welcome to humanity. Or do you mean that a majority of humans aren't dumb?
Cus that would actually explain a lot.

Exactly indeed, it's like when mad people can't recognize madness.

this album continues to be weird as fuck to me. and i don't mean surface level "omg these sounds are freaky!" i just mean the actual makeup of this record, pervading atmosphere and the intense minimalism of it all following what came right before it. to me it's their most eccentric by a mile

And really coherent despite the different styles of the tunes. Or at least that's how I always experience this.

Honestly in the timespan of OKC til AMSP there is no RH record that is less than a 4 for me
For me they truly are one of the most consistent bands to ever exist

'Life in a Glasshouse' is Radiohead's best closer and a Top 3 all time RH track for me.
I also think, while I still prefer the KID A version, 'Morning Bell/Amnesiac' gets too much hate. Still an amazing track with a completely different spin on the material.
Reminds of of a similar exercise where several film directors are given the same script and the films they end up making are, of course, all drastically different.

That sounds awesome! Was this a documentary or something? Any clue on what that was called?

'it's like a more boring HttT'
i cannot make sense of this statement.

so picture HttT, but then have a boring version of it with fewer interesting songs.
like 2+2=5, I don't think anything here even touches that song alone. Or Where I End, or There There

I can't think of any specific, well-known films that did this, but i believe it is (or was) a common exercise in film schools, more just a study to see how various people interpret the same material. i'm not sure of any mainstream films that have been directed from the same script *without* foreknowledge of the other film already in existence.

'so picture HttT, but then have a boring version of it with fewer interesting songs.'
but from an aesthetic standpoint, Amnesiac and HTTT are *drastically* different. okay maybe on a binary scale you find Amensiac 'boring' and HTTT 'not as boring' but the two albums are trying to achieve patently different sounds so it just seems weird to even bother comparing them.
i think bill callahan's new album is boring as fuck but that'd be like me saying, 'Shepherd in a Sheepskin Vest' is like a more boring version of 'Deathconsciousness.'
aside from being both made my Radiohead, the albums bear very little resemblance to each other imo.

Ah, gotcha. Pity, sounds like it would be very nice to see such an exercise!
Love both Amnesiac and HTTT, I think Amnesic-TKOL is my fave stretch of their discog actually...
