Opening riff of opening song is so great and dynamic.

Beneath the Silt and Ghosts Will Haunt My Bones are my two favourites on here. The former sounds like a Down/Deftones lovechild.

I quite like Ghosts... but Beneath... is one of my least favourites in this.

Beneath sounds like Pantera hanging out with the tamest version of Meshuggah. How could you not dig that awesome bass groove?

Most of the times, when I don't like a song it's because of the vocals or/and refrain melody. This is a good example.

Album grooves hard, Ghosts Will Haunt My Bones is one of the best on here, love that intro.

Bit too many filler tracks on this album, also sounds a bit dumbed down, not as technical as blackening or locust(which is not much technicality to begin with). But ultimately enjoyable, which is after all why we listen to music. Surprised reviewer didnt mention "sail Into the black".

I was kind of surprised too. I listened to the album after reading the review. When I went back to see to remember what was his opinion on the track, I realized that my memory loss was completely justified!

The second half of this is a pretty big letdown after the first half, especially on repeated listens.

Gonna admit, I'm kind of digging a few tunes of here. But my biggest problem with this is the repeat of past success with some boring chug riffs and a few truly brilliant moments literally sprinkled delicately into each song (so few and far between).

Production can make weak riffs sound awesome. You can see how it's fooled everybody with a rating over 2.5.

Digging the 2nd half of this album, nothing beats Burn My Eyes though, or anything from Vio-lonce :D

Gonna have to disagree with you this time old friend, this is probably their most well-written record imo. Yeah, there are some chug riffs indeed that are used as nothing more than lead-in to bigger and brighter sections, and I don't want to jump the gun here because this album is so fresh, but initial impressions: this is their best yet.
