Was browsing a record store and found this on vinyl for $15 in the "metal" section. Snatched it up real quick.

I'll check that out Animals.

Seeing Bladerunner: The Final Cut and 2049 this past week brought this and Plastic House to my mind a few times while watching.

I love both for different reasons. I think the storyline and characters, including Decard, are all more interesting in 2049, and the visual effects, atmosphere, and cinematography are equally stunning in both, but I'd give more credit to the original cause there was no digital effects, and it influenced all sci-fi from then onwards. Rutger Hauer was also one of my favorite movie villains, and his tears in the rain speech at the end is amazing.

i just dont like the feel of 2049, its aesthetic screams neo-Hollywood, and the reimaginig seemed forced

the original was so human and heartfelt, with bizarre and quirky moments and a style that makes it totally its own world. i feel like it may have been just an accidental stroke of genius/perfection that the universe just so happened to grant.

i know most liked it though (2049), but i just cant get over the original, and seeming deja vu it brought me when i first saw it. that movie will haunt me the rest of my life.

2049 reminded me a lot of Mad Max: Fury Road and Wall-E. It is supposed to be different though, another 30 years in the future.

I think the original stands on its own and 2049 takes it in a bigger direction, since the original is basically a straightforward neo-noir detective story in an amazingly realized sci-fi future. The villain was by far the most interesting character; that movie was all about the atmosphere and mood

2049 did a great job being its own thing and amplifying the plot and characters, and doing the atmosphere and mood just as well in a different way. Also comparing it the other modern movies with similar / bigger budgets, it's a godsend.

Yea really nice guitar tones on the first two songs too. The intro to Library Subterranean is gorgeous, I like how this review described it. Spirit Photography is also top 5 Kayo Dot.
