Never was able to listen to Skydancer all the way through...
Review was phenomenal.

Good review. I told myself I would give this album a chance, because I did like several of the songs on Playground. But I suppose I'll pass and continue hoping that they will one day make something genuinely awesome again.

This review is pretty much how I feel about the album. Good review man

I'm hardly an expert on post-Clayman In Flames, but this album sounds like it was written and recorded overnight.
The sound production is top notch, but the content is "empty".

Reading their impassioned rants about "elitists" is quite an experience.
Link plz

Yeah there was this interview with them. Metalsucks, blabbermouth or some other site. Don't recall if they said something about elitists, Anders actually said he's proud of every part of their career and respect the band's legacy but now simply wants to do something else. he also said that he appreciates all those that want them to release another Whoreacle, because "without guys like that we wouldn't be where we are". so seems his attitude was actually quite chill on this one

Yeah that attitude is actually really admirable. I think he's a good person I just don't like his vocals.

'Do these guys even have fans anymore?'
hello, I consider myself to be a fan of In Flames
I really enjoyed Sounds of a Playground Fading and I consider Come Clarity to be one of the better
melodeath records in recent history

With Eyes Wide Open and When the World Explodes are both awesome songs, especially the latter. I can understand why so many people hate this album, but it is definitely not terrible. Why not give them some credit for doing what they want and putting out a radio-friendly rock record? Everyone is bashing them because they sound nothing like they used to. I feel really bad for all the bands out there today that put the time into their albums only to release them and get torn to shreds by reviews from people who probably have no artistic talent whatsoever. Everyone thinks they are a metal guru! Music is subjective, meaning we all have different tastes and it all depends on the what sounds good to the listener.

^ agreed, although no one here criticized that they sound has changed. that would be a narrow minded criticism would'nt it????

As I said in the review:
"That’s fine, though, I understand that In Flames are no longer what they were 20 years ago. In fact, I think it’s entirely unfair to compare new In Flames to old In Flames simply because the two sounds are so utterly divergent."

Just when I thought they couldn't get any worse

The problem is, some bands make better radio friendly rock.
