the guitar work (though not as strong as that on their next album), is excellent here. not because of the speed syn plays, but because of how compact the two guitarists are when it comes to harmonies (which this band has always been great at)

Agreed. City of Evil is great but it relies on that flashy guitar work whereas there are a lot more memorable riffs and melodies on here
