not going to get into any arguments, but i have to say that the sax solo in This One Goes Out To... STILL blows my mind. Blows the crap out of the weak trumpet solo from the Catch version. That is all.

1234 1234 is such an awesome song.

This album takes a mediocre effort from a group of young punks with a prolific song writer and makes it a classic album. A matured Thomas Kalnoky and a group of talented musicians made this album a much more valuable product than it was when Catch 22 released it.
And if Thomas Kalnoky read this review he would probably be very insulted. To say As the Footsteps Die Out Forever is outdated and angsty is very harsh. In case you didn't know it's about his mother's death from Cancer, tool, and it will never be outdated to him.

I really love this album from streetlight because they were just trying to improve on something that was done a while ago. And they were successful
and ska is fucking incredible
stop bashing it.

This is good, but it's basically pointless in comparison to the original Catch 22 version. I much prefer the original, not because they'r too different but because they got it right the first time. I hardly ever listen to this version.

The rather weak brass section in the Catch 22 version really held it back in some songs. It shows when you listen to SM's version: Walking Away and This One Goes Out to... are light years better on SM's version. However, a lot of songs didn't really require that much skill to play, so yeah I slightly prefer Catch 22's version.

mainly the fact that tomas took the time to re-record one of his old band's albums while taking forever to record a second streetlight album is what irks me about this.
