Lol. Something like the suicide of one of your favorite musicians will do that.

some brilliant lyrics on this thing, as expected.
i read you all wrong
so i get drunk just to feel i belong
by a river so dry its barely a river at all
and we suck one another at night
fire pistols and cover our eyes
and we waltz unseen behind hollywood's ballroom doors
pull apart the actors pretending to grieve
they never went to the funeral, and they never believed
oh how she murders morbid thought
oh plunges a knife into the suicide in...my...blood

Yeah I'd say this does just enough to justify it being a solo release without just going off the rails. I was wavering at first because it doesn't hit the emotional highs of FR but once I'd settled into it I realised that I didn't need them to be there

it's a bit more diverse than the Frabbit mould would allow (at least their albums, EPs were kind of a different vibe). like those little electronic flourishes on Cold Creeps or the whole thing in Hate Music are really fucking cool little diversions that are still recognisably Scott
I also think A Good Reason to Grow Old and Don't Take off the Gloves hit the ol heart as much as anything else he did
