I love High Road (especially 2:30 onwards), I like The Motherload and I dig the big soundscape created at the beginning of Chimes at Midnight. However I struggle with rest for now. This mixture of poppy catchiness and swampy guitars makes it hard to digest in one sitting for me (claustrophobic production doesn't help at all), seems it's an album that I have to check little by little

I hope they'll record more albums feeling that they "have to" then, because EoS is one of their most varied and emotional works in my eyes. I loved what I discovered of its lore too, like how the "sand" in "emperor of sand" relates to the time you have left to live and "sultan's curse" is a synonim for cancer. The opening lyrics of Sultan's Curse become self-explanatory and stuff like "when the sultan gives order to take your head" genuinely hit me
