Another batch of fluffy, angelic, twinkly, piano-laden nothing.

The Lost Song - Part II and Anathema are my favorites from this one and I easily prefer the first half of the album. Anathema have found a formula for many years now and they've been building on it. I like the fact that this one is a bit more gloomy than their previous stuff though.

It's certainly more subtle than the last two

Sounding like typical recent Anathema fare so far, which is in the 3.5-4 range.

the title track is not going down well anymore, it sounds very tranny lol

not sure if they made a good move on 2nd half, doubt it will last as long as their older stuff.

i like the bass playing and its sound on this album though.

Agreed about the bass, the tone is an improvement over WS. I don't understand why Jamie isn't playing

the bass on the album

Only album I've ever heard in full from these guys is the debut and it's been years since I listened to it. Always meant to jam their more recent stuff.

Gonna spin this now since I'm catching up on stuff from this year. m/

If you've only heard their death/doom then yeah. If you're trying to get into new Anathema I wouldn't start with this though
