Fuck, this certainly threw me out of my Serpents & Spheres binge lately. I wish Immolation would take a note from these guys and go back to their less compressed sound like this record displays beautifully (or ugly).

I've only listened to Graves once but this one left a much bigger impact on me after one listen, I listened to it 4 times already

I really should give that one more of a chance now though

i was actually hoping they would expand more on the atmospheric part of their sound. still excited to hear this though.

Excellent review, I will pick the album at their live concert in Thessaloniki this Sunday, along with Grave Miasma, Cruciamentum and The Psalm.

I guess now is as good as a time as ever to try this band out which I've been meaning to do for too long. Getting this.

go further into atmospheric and you start heading towards ulcerate a bit, a moderation between the two is just what the doctor ordered for this band

i thought the production on graves was great

as matt (hyp) said, i do think the production with the drums on graves left a bit to be desired, although the guitars were a whirlwind of fire and hell so the aforementioned didn't really detract much for me

not to mention that vagelis is just a plain animal on the kit on all of their work
