Just got back from the premier and I really liked it. One of my main qualms was that they didn't use even a hint of Godzilla's theme song, though. I was waiting for those big brass and strings but got some crazy creepy dissonant stuff instead. Overall I thought it was a very good soundtrack but I really missed the Ifukube nods that I was expecting.

Nothing will ever match the music of Godzilla's final march on Tokyo in vs. Destoroyah though. That was so incredibly epic as he was melting down, going to save his son from Destroyer with the world on the line and his original theme kicked in. *tear*

So it turned out to be good? I had a feeling it was gonna be nothing more than an excuse to display super-cool special effects and mindless action.

And while the terrifying monster, all of 300 feet tall, would have people thinking Hans Zimmer or Danny Elfman would be the ideal choice for a film like this

i want to know who these people are

that brrrrrrrrrm thing Zimmer does and everyone else does now sounds like it'd fit but then it'd just be annoying after a while, as usual
