i tried to start with death but nothing ever stuck. i got into deathcore through bmth's first lp like ten years ago, then from that started enjoying more deathcore, but death metal just wouldnt stick no matter how many times i tried. found this album and it intrigued me, kept listening, realised i really liked some songs off it, then dm just sorta clicked and i found it easier to listen to other dm bands.

I didn't even know Death was a band until Sylosis had some interview where they named Death as their biggest influence. So yes Sylosis was my favorite band 6 years ago.

You guys seem to have way more 'organic' ways of getting into new music than I do, my introduction to DM as a genre was this website. Before coming here I had no previous experience whatsoever and was only interested as it appeared popular here and my curiosity was piqued, guess I just wondered what all the fuss was about. Having no imagination whatsoever I started in the most logical (highest rated) place... Symbolic was lauded as this mind-blowing must hear experience and it didn't disappoint.
