I think this was a definite step in the right direction. I am pleased with certain songs, mainly: Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer, The Satanist, In The Absence ov Light, O Father O Satan O Sun!

These songs really stand out to me as the most cohesive and well thought out melodies, patterns, progressions, and talent.

Can already tell people are going to have a rough time with their end of year lists.

"Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel" moderately sucks though.

Yeah that's the track I really don't like, when they released that as a single I was thinking this was going to be just as bad as their past releases. Then they released Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer and I was pleasantly surprised lol

I'm just going to pretend that that song isn't a thing.

I agree until the song starts picking up when they get a bit more frantic throughout the last half.

To a point yeah, but they could have done so much more with it to set the rest of this up.

It does sound like a b-side off Evangelion. Regardless, the opening to the close of this album fucking gets my rocks off. I love listening to this when I'm plowing snow. It's my way of saying "FUCK YOU" to mother nature who's obviously been a huge cunt to Canada and the States this winter.

I think the frantic part is the most boring, the rest is aight, the last section is very fresh for behemoth.

As long as we can agree that Behemoth is allowed to join the ranks of the metal elite, we can sleep easier tonight!
