Checked out that new EP and it was super disappointing overall, more than half of it doesn't even sound like it came from this band lol. Avatar and Separate Me are good and give me the same vibe as this album but that EP should've been so much better

The EP is just diet OM&M

Yea those first two tracks were bad and just sounded like anything Aaron has done the past like 8 years. Avatar and Separate Me sounded like real Jamie's Elsewhere tracks and I'm guessing the other members of the band had more of a hand in that.

Speaking of the other members, where did the cool guitar riffs and leads go? and the good sounding synth? lol it's all just a mess, definitely doesn't have me hoping for a new album anytime soon

I just listened to it. The EP has a split personality disorder. The first two songs aren't recognizable at all, while Avatar and Separate Me in particular sound like the past. Won't say it sucks, the experience is just weird.

Avatar and Separate Me are very enjoyable. If this EP is just a stack of new materials and a test of direction, I'd much rather the band revive their style of the past.
