It's barely black metal man, I am not a fan of BM either but I have it 5'd. There's only 2 songs that actually use that vocal style. Maybe give ecailles de lune part 1 a try?

Album is pretty decent, but I like my Alcest with black metal influences. The 2 first albums are sweet, this has good songs but seems more like something created by sigur ros. By the way, pitchfork most of the time is lame.

this not having any black metal doesn't really have much to do with why it isn't that good. after Voyages the original alcest premise had been conceptually completed and its accompanying sound had been somewhat exhausted. leaving behind the last of the metal vestiges was what I expected and honestly what I wanted from this album. it just wasn't executed well.
