I think what I appreciate most about Signify overall is the song-based approach of the next few albums married to the more psychedelic, krautrock styles up to this one, working really well together on here.

Some parts don't really do it for me but I love most of this. It's probably my 5th favorite of theirs.

Really friend? I love the straight up approaches on Deadwing, In Absentia and their best, Fear...

Lightbulb Sun might be my favorite PT record if it included Buying New Soul, Novak, Cure for Optimism, Disappear, and Oceans Have No Memory instead of Four Chords and How Was Your Life

The stretch from Up the Downstair to this is their best work for me, easily.

Album is good but it isn't as good as some of their later era albums, especially Deadwing, Stupid Dream and Fear of a Blank Planet.
In all honesty though, every PT album is decent.

Whenever I hear the bass line for Idiot Prayer, I think of a musclebound jazzercise instructor with a ponytail working out on an elliptical (try to get that image out of your mind now when hearing that bass line)
