I'm trawling through memory lane now on YouTube. MTVs most wanted with Ray Cokes was an institution.

Fucking ridiculous to think that one week it was Radiohead, next week Oasis. They were mad days. Tangible sense of euphoria espoused by the Britpop lot wasn't quite the reality but they were great times.

Still don't get the hype with this one. Beetlebum is fantastic and Song 2 is a jam, but the album takes a complete nosedive from there in my opinion. On Your Own/Theme from Retro are probably the biggest offenders for me, tend to switch off by that point (shame since I really dig the following 2 tracks). I'd argue that The Great Escape is actually better, personally. Great review though, think I'm a bit late lol
