Gang Starr. I really like The Ownerz, and of course their most recent from last year was terrific. Nas and Jay-Z both put out a lot of good albums in the 2000s, Nas into the 2010s too imo. A Tribe Called Quest's farewell album was excellent.

As a general rule, yeah, most 90s hip hop artists fell off in the 00s but Mobb Deep have an especially wide gulf between their best work and stuff like Blood Money. Fyi I'm not saying Havoc and Prodigy did not have worthwhile solo stuff/ guest production during this period, but as a duo they became pretty awful. Lol.

also has at least half as many ratings before you even take into account this site's poor taste/non-exposure to electronic music

go listen to funcrusher plus for some mindblowing el-p production

disagreed across the board with the sole exception of gang starr, who only released one album in the 00's

"Fyi I'm not saying Havoc and Prodigy did not have worthwhile solo stuff/ guest production during this period,"

Shook Ones is one song, Sinternet. Even then, Nas has 5 songs that match it in quality easily.

I mean if you really think Nas and Jay-Z haven't put out a single good album since 2000, you're in the extreme minority bro idk what to say.

i do think gang starr is a great example of an exception to the rule that the 00s were not kind to 90s rappers and groups

other than that the only two 90s groups to have redeemed themselves from the misgivings of the 00s so far for me are slum village and black moon

Now that I think about it, Common and The Roots both put out stellar albums in both the 90s and 2000s
