Top 10 best post-70s Floyd songs ranked:
1. High Hopes
2. Marooned
3. On The Turning Away
4. Two Suns in the Sunset
5. The Fletcher Memorial Home
6. Learning to Fly
7. The Gunner's Dream
8. Poles Apart
9. Your Possible Pasts
10. Terminal Frost
The Final Cut t/t is close but it uses the same motif as Comfortably Numb which I'm not sure is on purpose or not, but either way it kinda just makes me want to listen to Comfortably Numb.

I think my top 10 post-70's Floyd tracks would probably be made up of 8 Final Cut tracks plus High Hopes and On the Turning Away.

The beginning of "What do you want from me" sounds as a continuation from "Raise my rent". Both songs sound very familiar. I actually read somewhere that Gilmour got the inspiration for these licks while jamming that song. I wouldn't be surprised if that actually happened.

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river
Forever and ever

I would enjoy the album much more if it wasn't that Gilmour's wife is involved with the lyrics. I mean didn't he write his own lyrics in pretty much all the songs he composed on the 70's? THAT MAKES ME MAD.

Maybe his wife writes better
