'This is a band channeling its talent into pure positive vibes, while also creating a sense that
those who don’t go with them are the ones with the problem.'
Most people listen to music because of problems and they're looking for answers or at least
something that makes them feel better. Then, why would anyone choose an album like this, where
everything is just so irrelevant and unserious, over one like Emergency & I? It almost makes you
feel stupid for not laughing at the retarted jokes it makes every 5 seconds. And while this I-don't-
give-a-fuck attitude may make you happier, I just always think people gave up on the real stuff.
Yeah, you can choose to be happy at any time in your life, but I don't think you earned it.
Maybe I'm too young to understand but this is something I always hated about "grown ups" because it
makes life feel really empty.
Regardless, this isn't very entertaining in any other way either.

interesting record. TDP is one of my all-time favorite bands so it is hard to not put a lot of expectations on this record. My first listen-through I was honestly pretty disappointed outside of 3-4 songs. The more I listen to it, the more "fun" it becomes even though it doesn't touch the multi-faceted approach from their earlier work.

Fantastic review; one of the best I've read in quite a while, actually. Succinct, funny (actually laughed out loud a few times), and persuasive. Sad to see that TDM have gone down a few notches with this release, but it may have been worth it for this review alone! :-O

Well, I said this in the other thread. They basically started their whole career with the rating for Emergency & I and ended it with the 0 for Travis' solo album. Then they helped them out with their reunion tour and I didn't think they would have the balls to rate it this bad after all that happened. I expected a 7 at least.
