oh wait so is power electronics a super small scene? Bc Grunt has like twelve ratings on RYM so I'm assuming only like fifteen people listen to that music.

This album is an absolute beast. I think it may be his best work, esp after his two releases before it i was wondering if he would ever do anything heavy again and he comes out with this.

track 3, two minutes and 57 seconds in, just wow. probably gonna 4.5 this, album got me through some rough patches, specifically the first four minutes of that song.

"i was wondering if he would ever do anything heavy again and he comes out with this. "

fun fact he got the inspiration for going back to a heavy sound and making this album after going to a Meshuggah concert.

lmao of course. while i do love his softer releases, i find the entire charm of his stuff (namely this release and beacons) is how well he balances heavy with not so heavy. didn't really enjoy fade or loop, lybh was good, but neither stand up to this and beacons imo

I love all the titles on Beacons. They work to sort of make a story even though they're all just lines from airliner blackbox transcripts after accidents.

I think this is, by far, Cloudkicker's best album. A really nice balance of heaviness and atmosphere.

Can't tell if I like this or Beacons more; they're both super solid.

this by a good deal for me. i feel like beacons was more impacting the first few times but i rarely feel the need to listen to beacons anymore

Beacons never did anything for me :/ In my opinion that album doesn't evolve and hit the emotional highs and lows this album hits. I don't know what was going on in this dude's life when he wrote this album but there must have been some really depressing shit.

I think Beacons edges this as just being a more cohesive project.

this is amazing but there aren't as many standout sections as with Beacons

this is a much more positive record than Beacons tho? That album reeks of sad.
