Shepherd of Fire makes me want to die in a fire.

yea this is their tamest album guitar and drum wise. the drummer seriously has no creative ideas whatsoever. he can mimic the stuff live but thats it, hes fucking awful on here

I don't mind this as a black metal album but when I'm in the mood for something a bit more kvlt I listen to of mice and men.
|
| |
You thought that was a joke? Is there something funny about my taste in music?

This is one of the only instances where I've actually enjoyed the singing, but it doesn't really matter that much when pitted against the album's shittier aspects
|
| |
Look at that album cover. How you could say it isn't black metal is beyond me.
|
| |
Bats are black metal indeed. Trve kvlt. I just wish the production wasn't as high quality, then it would be a trve black metal album.
|
| |
It's the deathbat, I have it tattooed on my bicep. I don't consider it black metal lol.
I'm just gonna consider you a huge Overkill fan instead.
|
| |
^ yeah they basically stole overkill's logo.
I might make a list of some sort, I'll have to have a think.

Overkill is the shit.

Indeed it is, they seem to be more popular now than they were which is great.

They were criminally underrated back in the day.
|

I think they were overshadowed by the big four back then.

A little. Kreator's last album kicked ass, and Overkill's been dominating for years.
|

Anthrax are still badass but that's about it. Slayer's dead, megadeth's as good as dead and metallica, well, I actually still like metallica.

New Megadeth album sucks.

Yeah NB are doing their best but they are at their best when they're promoting black/ death metal. Have you heard Behemoth's The Satanist? It's mind blowingly good.
|

Oh yeah it's that bad.

There's a lot of noisecore bands that have a lot of trash influence. That's where I consider the genre to have ended up.
