Jason Bryon motW wrote the concept for this album, so I don't suppose the expectations are too farfetched.

Hubardo isn't really "like" Bath but it does incorporate elements from it. Hubardo is the summation of Toby Driver's

discography IMO. Everything but the kitchen sink.. And it works magically.

Byron has been writing the concepts and lyrics for Kayo Dot since inception, this is just the first album in a while that he is appearing on according to Driver.

I actually think this may be the best jump point for someone who has only heard motW. Then Choirs, Dowsing and the rest.

Plausible statement. I also put down that Bryon wrote the concept for this album, because I felt it was still significant. Plus, the concept is perhaps one of my favorites in the apocalypse section.

Concept is a lot of fun. Album is incredibly enjoyable. Wait of the World is probably the most fun listening I've had in a long time. It goes from some psychedelic freakout and then rolls effortlessly into a somber dirge.

It's like being in some Zappafied orgy that projects you into a journey to the Misty Mountains and you have no choice but to put away your condoms and your glow sticks, then toss a cloak over your back and make the long journey to some impending doom.

:P

I read somewhere that Driver apparently wanted this to be the "Bitches Brew of metal" or something

I think hubardo will get better after extended listening. Wouldn't be surprised to see the 5's stay.

same anti-hype dickwads that hate everything will be all over this soon either way so i doubt this will end up with a better avg than choirs

Still, a 5 within less than a week of it being released is jumping the gun to me. Choirs of the Eye obviously has had enough time to sink in fully but this, not even close.
