this feels like the dark and spooky version of destroyers but in a bad way. like this all turns into a murky mush outside of occasional standout moments. prefer the bleak wasteland post metal vibes on destroyers. those songs feel like they have more room to breathe. if you're gonna give me constantly oppressive and weighty atmosphere like here i'd rather there be a light at the end of the tunnel e.g. shrines tho that one is brought down by the drum sound. idk this is my least fav ulcerate needs more pensive thinking man's riffs!!

okay but in all seriousness I guess that's one of the problems I run into with this kind of stuff... like this kind of existential stuff would probably be right up my alley but it's entirely lost on me if I just listen to the music and don't actually bother to go read it... just have never had an ear for vocals of this nature so when I listen to this album, they're pretty much completely unintelligible for me

Idk the lyrics are like the least important thing for me when it comes to this. Listening to Ulcerate for the lyrics is like listening to Phill Collins' whole discog just to hear that one drum fill.

Idk about that, I think Ulcerate’s lyrics play a much larger role in their music’s overall thematics than a lot of other death metal bands’
