Stumbled over this on Deezer and it sounded interesting on first listen. Gotta give it a real spin yet.

It's kind of amazing.
The vocals are probably my favorite part of the band. I love the back and forth between the harsh vocalist and the guitarist.

Playing a quirky brand of metalcore, Idaho quartet The Ongoing Concept capture your attention on debut LP 'Saloon'. Coming complete with a loose wild west concept, everything from a bar-room piano to a banjo makes an appearance. A very front-loaded album, this is technically competent & quite catchy at times, but is also too scattershot to fully satisfy. Diverse in every way imaginable, the sing/scream dynamic of brothers Dawson & Kyle Scholz will likely polarize opinion, as will the band's future direction. The potential for something special is definitely there though. Recommended Tracks: Little Situation, You Are the One, Sunday's Revival & Sidelines.

listen to the new one davey, they nixed the wild west theme and it sounds pretty different
|
| |
new one is better, the wild west theme was a fun novelty but i think novelties can only get you so far

This is more chaotic with more nice guitar riffs whereas the new one is catchier and has distinct songs.
